Local food

In this article, I want to write about Misokatsu, a specialty food of my hometown, Aichi prefecture. Misokatsu is a kind of tonkatsu, a fried pork cutlet. They put miso sauce over the tonkatsu, where everywhere else just uses regular tonkatsu sauce. I wish you could enjoy eating Misokatsu more with my article.

Misokatsu is a kind of tonkatsu. The katsu seasoned with soybean paste is put on the rice. When you have it for the first time, you will be surprised at the color of the katsu. They are colored by the soybean paste and the flavor also is the soybean paste. Misokatsu was made by a man, Yoshio Suzuki, in 1947. One day, he put miso sause on the tonkatsu because he was tired of the tonkatsu. He liked it and recommended his friends it. It became popular in Nagoya.

Misokatsu was used pork and miso sause. It fried pork, seasoned with soybean paste. It has many varieties for example, Misokatsudon, kusikatsu and bake iron plate.

It is very popular in Nagoya. Some people make it at their house. I often eat it at Yabaton and Yabaton is a specially store for the misokatsu. Tourists go to the store and eat it. I wish Misokatsu would become more popular and more and more people learn about Nagoya.
